The Households of Bethany includes a team that works continually to create home, community, and family. A Dietary Aide/Homemaker needs to be compassionate with a deep desire to serve older adults and support their right to peace, happiness, unity, and a quality of life.

Dietary Aide (titled as Homemakers) provides for the maintenance of a safe and clean environment. Performs various housekeeping tasks and meal service for residents in our senior living long term care community. Meals are prepared for the dietary aide by the kitchen. Dietary Aids are in charge of serving meals to the residents and cleaning up after each meal or snack. Each aide has 14-18 residents to serve. We will train!

• Serves meals and snacks according to instructions

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with our residents

The primary purpose of the Bistro Assistant job position is to provide assistance in preparing food, cashiering, and completing all restaurant functions of Tom and Stevie’s Bistro and Pub as instructed, and in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures.

Job Functions

The Bistro Assistant consists of two main areas of responsibility: food preparation and front-end customer service. These areas of responsibility may be split between multiple staff members or performed together by one employee, dictated by staffing needs at any given time.

Duties and Responsibilities

Dietary Service

-Prepare food in accordance with standardized recipes and within the specified time frames, special diet orders, and by customer preference

-Carry out garbage and keep work areas clean, dry and free of hazardous equipment, supplies, etc.

– Perform dishwashing/cleaning procedures

– Assist in inventorying and storing in-coming food and supplies as necessary

– Provide superior customer service, including greeting customers, ringing up purchases, answering questions about menu items and sales merchandise, providing menu item recommendations, and receiving comments and complaints

– Maintain the cleanliness of the Bistro seating area, including wiping tables and chairs, sweeping and mopping the floor, and restocking supplies

Administrative Functions

– Review menus prior to preparation of food and remain current on menu updates

– Process cash and credit card transactions accurately

– Complete cash register closing procedure

Personnel Functions

– Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, residents, family members, and customers of the general public

This position would be day hours – approximately 10a to 6p and every other weekend. No Holidays.

Food Service Safety and Sanitation

– Follow safety regulations and precautions at all times

– Follow established Infection Control and Universal Precautions policies and procedures when performing daily tasks

– Assist in maintaining food storage areas in a clean and properly arranged manner at all times

Experience and Experience

– High school diploma or equivalent

– Team members must be at least 18 years of age to serve al

– Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 3 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 30 feet
